The WordPress Family Award

The WordPress Family Award

By Judy Berman

Coming home. That’s how I feel each time I log on to a WordPress blog. It is a community, a family, where I feel comfortable sharing my stories. When I visit other blogs, your stories and experiences have made me laugh, cry and think.

I am honored that Maloquacious of http://maloquacious.wordpress.com/ nominated my blog for The WordPress Family Award. Here are some bloggers I’d like to pass this award on to:

    1. I confess, Marilyn. I looked at the one Maloquacious posted. She nominated six blogs. I nominated eight. So follow your heart. 🙂 I’m glad you like the award. I thought it was a great fit for you and what you write about.

      1. Courageous or just plain crazy, I’ve wondered. I think we all need to speak up whenever and wherever injustice happens. It’s part of being human, of keeping our humanity.

        Smiles!

comment from earthrider to (just how DO you make that symbol?) =eM:
Speaking of smiles, I liked your post on ‘smiling’ as well. 😆

  1. Well, thank you too Judy for reading and commenting on so many of my posts – it’s been great to know you, and read about interesting facts of your life! 🙂 And this WordPress world after some time on here does become like a family!! I often think we are all a bit like the old fashioned pen pal, but presenting our stories either in the past or present in a variety of creative ways. And it’s such a good education, because I get to ask questions sometimes and I’ve learnt so much more about the places and the lives of people all over the world – I just wouldn’t get that from television. Congratulations on the award, and may happy blogging continue! 😀

    1. Suzy … I wanted to nominate you for this award, but you posted a notice about not wanting awards. A sensible decision that I very much admire.

Blogging does feel at time like receiving a warm letter in the mail from a friend. I do look forward to the comments as they are frequently thoughtful, funny and touch my heart. 🙂

      1. Sorry, I nearly forgot to get back to you on this comment! Well thank you for thinking of me for the award!! 😀 But yes, I did post a notice about it, thanks for seeing it – not everyone does! I did a post about it some time back, that I didn’t want to get into awards because I was beginning to getting one every two weeks, sometimes from bloggers I didn’t even know, which I thought was a bit silly. I could see it was going to become very time consuming, and it just didn’t seem right for me to be doing all that. I guessed if I felt like that, then people I gave an award to might also feel a little overwhelmed! There does seem to be a lot less around at the moment, and many more people saying they don’t want to do them any more.

But I admire the way you’ve done it here – short and sweet, that’s a very good idea! 😀

        note from earthrider to suzywordmuser:
What you said is true. I have felt overwhelmed by guilt because I didn’t get around to acknowledging the nominations right away. So I took a new approach for the WordPress Family Award. I’m glad you like it. 😉

  2. What?? I’m now an honorary member of the Berman Family?? This is one of the greatest things that’s ever happened to me– and that includes the one bowling trophy I won by a fluke!!

The best part is, this means I get some of the Berman Family Thanksgiving leftovers, right? Put me down for any leftover stuffing– always a great bedtime snack… : )

Many thanks, amigo. You’re one of the best, and I cherish our friendship– cheers!!

    1. We’re delighted to have you join our warped family, Mark. Now, you just get yourself down here for Thanksgiving and we’ll not only share the leftovers, we’ll have give you a generous slice of pumpkin pie.

Thanks friend. Always great to know you got my back. 🙂
